No hacks, just habits!

Published 15 days ago • 1 min read

Hey Reader,

Last year, I stumbled upon a book that transformed my perspective on building a business consistently.

Its profound impact on me motivated me to create a 21-day challenge based on the principles I learned from it.

And which book was it?

James Clear's Atomic Habits. I initially listened to the audiobook and then purchased the Kindle version, it is that good. Admission - I'm currently on my 31st reread.

While the title suggests that the book is solely about habits, what truly resonated with me was how habits, or the actions associated with them, are merely the surface-level manifestation of achieving success in both life and business.

Habits serve as the underlying systems that enable us to attain our desired outcomes over time. The right habits can grant us more time, independence, and freedom, while the wrong ones can rob us.

So, practically speaking, what does this look like?

Let's say you want to skyrocket your sales by 10X.

To achieve this, you need to focus on two key areas:

  1. Attracting more customers and
  2. Increasing the value of each sale.

Here are a couple of questions to consider:

  1. What is the simplest and most effective way to engage with potential or existing customers today?
  2. Is there an additional offering I can provide today that would benefit my customers?

Now, let's break down the habit activities:

  • Customer Outreach: Make it a daily practice to reach out to at least 10 potential and existing customers. Time dedicated to this: 20 minutes
  • Upsell Opportunity: Identify and concentrate on one upsell opportunity each day. Time dedicated to this: 10 minutes

By implementing these habit activities consistently, you'll be amazed at the positive impact on your sales and overall business growth. Remember, it's not just about the habits themselves but the systems you create that lead to long-term success.

As you embark on this journey of building better habits, keep James Clear's wisdom as your guide:

You do not rise to the level of your goals.

You fall to the level of your systems.

Your goal is your desired outcome.

Your system is the collection of daily habits that will get you there.

Now, I'm eager to hear from you – what's the most significant insight you've gained from this email?

Warm African greetings
